Hi everyone-

Since it's winter and I can't go out hunting with several feet of snow - so I have been going over the piles of old iron I have collected over the summer. One of them kind of looks like it might have been part of a gun - trigger perhaps? Thought I'd run it past the experts on this board to get their take on it.

If it's a gun trigger - can you tell me what it went to? My curiosity has been getting to me with this one.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Possible window or door latch :icon_scratch:
I would say latch of some kind.

Never saw a gun trigger quite like that.

GoodyGuy: Thanks again for the information. Cleared that up for me in a hurry!

I'm new to this hobby and am just waiting to start my 2nd season. I just wish there were some book or website that had a good pictorial index of common detector finds that people could search through.

I read this section on TNet quite a bit and it has been immensely helpful in clearing up some mysteries for me! Also have a few old Sears catalogs from the early 1900's that help as well.

It's a great hobby, and you never know what you're gonna get.
Just like a box of chocolates, my momma said :laughing7:

I don't think anyone will ever write a book on all of the junque and crape' we find out digging in the ground. There's just too much and too many different things and even just parts of things that they would never be 100% identifiable. But right here is a good place to get some educated guesses and even many IDs, so stick around and happy hunting. Monty
