after picking it up I think it is way to light in weight. Any thoughts?

It's hard to say for sure form the pics, but it does have the appearance of a vascular core and possibly a solid outer surface. I would give it a very strong "possibly".

Haha, I learned them as BOBs (blob of bone). Because they had been tumbled and broken so much pre-deposition that they were un-identifiable as anything other.
