I found these 2 things last week at a lot where I found a 1892 IH. I just pulled them out of my pouch tonight.

I think the small round thing may be my first flat button. I have no idea what the other thing is. Maybe a fishing weight. :dontknow: I'm pretty sure it's lead.

Has flat bottom.

Flat button??

There is some writing on the back of the "button", but I can't really make any of it out. It's very small. There is also what looks like some wheat or something like that. Any help on IDing it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the help.

No doubt that is a flat button. One of the buttons guys will surely give you a date. Your hunting in the right spot. More items are likely there. Good luck and post those finds!

You have definitely found a flat button. Someone will chime in with more accurate dates than I can, but these started going out of fashion in the 1850's or so. I suspect they were around in abundance for some time afterwards too,

Your button is cuff-size. I like finding these more than the normal size. Yours is missing the loop.

Keep taking great pictures and doing your research!

Your Button is a London Best Plated 1850's Like the link but different. They made a lot of miniature badge buttons for police and the like. The ball kind of looks like a hinge pin cap off of an old safe?

Repeat poster here. The scale size of the pin cap would make it for an old door hinge. I should look more closely before posting!

I think the item on the left may be a broken drawer pull similar to this? HH
