Hello group- I'm new here. I stumbled upon this weird rock yesterday and right away I thought it was a fire-starter but then I realized I've only seen ones made from wood. Then I googled it and came across this forum.

This was found in South-East Michigan. This rock is really heavy for it's size, it may be quartz. It has 3 holes, 1 small, 2 are bigger and there's an indention, near the break on the rock. The 2 big holes connect on an angle.

Please, any help would be appreciated.

-TIA

Welcome. It looks natural to me with those holes being made by softer material or a fossil eroding out.

Welcome to TreasureNet. Looks natural, looks like it contained a fossil that fell out by erosion.

Thanks for the reply- if it were a fossil, would the inside of the hole be so smooth? And, it had to of been 2 different fossils, because it looks like the 2 bigger holes were both started from the outside of the 2 halves and met in the middle. They're offset by a half inch. If that makes sense

That makes sense. Thanks for the info.
