Curious if anyone can tell if this is a mint error, or a post production problem.

I got bored tonight and haven't been able to pick up any coins to sort as of late, so I decided to sort my change jar...and take out all copper cents....well noticed this while reading dates...

Nice error Ghondi. That's a bubbled planchet. All those little raised bumps are gas bubbles that were trapped during the copper plating process.

They were really common in the first years of the zinc pennies but once they got the process down it occured less often, but still does now and then. No extra value but a great curio.

Awesome. Thank you for the info.
It didn't seem like it was post production...

I believe this is my first error coin.
*Haven't relly searched for them, nor have I even looked throughly through my own collection...I may do that now..*

Bubbling that is caused by impurities on the zinc before it's coated with copper. Very common. Not considered an error.

Error-a deficiency or imperfection in structure or function
By definition, it would be an error.
May be very common, but its nice to me. Still my first error.
Additional value means nothing to me.
