Found these objects on 2 beaches on the Treasure Coast in Vero Beach, FL. Have used magnets to determine that they are all indeed metal. Wondering if it is possible that they are coins from one of the sunken ships off the treasure coast from the 1715 fleet. Have not found any pictures online that resemble what we have found other than random coins saw online.

They are not silver or gold coins if they stick to a magnet. Nice ring though!

He's right. They didn't make iron coins. But don't give up hope. The iron came from something, possibly a shipwreck. Keep looking, next time one of those black shapes on the beach might just be a heavily tarnished piece of eight.

Wise advice from Bigcypress...I keep everything, in the cold winter months I pull them out to clean and re-examine .....true story,we had a favorite arrowhead and artifact field,I kept every chip, one time I found a tip to a base I had found the year before, making a nice arrowhead!
