I found these today in a Civil War skirmish battle site. Union Army Major Charles Zagonyi's cavalry troops charged the Missouri State Guard's campsite just outside of Springfield Missouri on October 25th, 1861. A city/county park now stands on this site. I know that over the past 50 years, this park has been hit hard by every level of detectorist out there. But, it isn't hunted out yet! I checked the map and noted where the confederate troops were camped and then retreated from during the battle. It was at the campsite that I found these three items with my ATPro. There is an old brass pocketwatch frame, a brass ring, and an interesting point, 6 inches long total, that is hollow. Although the top appears broken, it is factory split down to a certain measurement, i.e. 2 inches, I believe so it could be mounted to something (a dowel, handle, instrument?) I need help from my Civil War experts on these items. Do they appear to be old enough to have been at the battle of Zagonyi's Charge? Thanks for looking and happy hunting! Sub
