Found this in a local sports park common area. It was hit by the lawnmower but I straightened it enough to hopefully get an ID from my TNet friends. It is very close to the size and weight of a US quarter. The damaged areas show that it is the same metal through and through. Same identical design on both sides. It rang up as a 77-78 VDI on the ATPro. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks, Sub 8-)

It is Japanese.

Katakana characters indicate the word is not of Japanese origin - so it is likely a phonetic spelling of AURORA.

I saw one other similar on Numista, but they didn't have much luck determining the origin either.
