I just created an account and this is my first post so hopefully I upload pictures correctly. So I farm in North Dakota and always keep my eyes on the ground when I am in the fields. Through the years I have found various arrowhead pieces, all knife river flint.

I found this broken piece that is not flint the other day and would like to know if it has been worked or if it is natural. It definitely tapers to a sharp edge on the non broke side.

The broken hammerhead I found last fall while deer hunting. What would the age/use be of it? My great grandpa and the other pioneers found many of them when they broke the land back in the early 1900s.

Welcome to TNET! Pic #1 is a Maul (Woodland period), the rest are busted up blades or preforms (most likely Woodland also. Pic #5 is a busted up Maul or axe... Congrats!

I'd say you have a couple of broken, grooved mauls and a broken preform for a knife or projectile. Welcome.

:hello: Welcome! Look like you have a productive spot to hunt.

Testing to see if this picture works. I read the thread on how to post pictures but still unsure of how to correct it just posting the attachment text.

Ok, so it converts the photo after I post. Good to know. I will take better pictures and make a proper thread but here are a couple neat things we have found on our land. 20210619_070020.jpg20210619_070005.jpg

Congratulations on those finds. Seems you?re on a really good location. Can?t wait to see what follows.

Man that point with the frosty patina is fine. I love me some Knife River flint.
