No Adena's in the northeast they say. That is why this find is very interesting to me.Traded perhaps...

Some of your kind will chime in soon I believe. Is Pilgrim Rock in MA? Is that where you found the artifact? Nice rescue. Thanks and congrats.

Not every Stemmed Point is Adena. There were a lot of variations of the Stemmed types during the termination of the Archaic period and transitioning to the Adena.

Yes, golden Trout aka Albino Rainbow. Don't know how they taste.
Thanks

Real question.
Is an Adena recorded to be found in the Greater Northeast.

I thought you now had Boudreau’s New England typology? If so, you know Adenas are found in the Northeast, as are other artifacts associated with Adena. Naturally, it’s not the heartland, but Adena traits, and points, are most certainly found in New England. That may be an Adena, but there are other styles that that point would also fit in, so I’m going to pass on making a call. Nice find.

There was an Adena complex in Delaware, as I recall from reading Dragoo many years ago, with extensions up into Massachusetts. D figured they were refugees from the collapse in the heartland, with a stream of other refugees migrating south & resulting in Copena.

D wrote a LONG time ago but he had a much better sense of the big picture -- people thought in those terms back then.

FWIW
