Possibility for crystal and gem finding in North East Texas?

I'm really intrigued by the possibility of going out and finding crystals and gems, but I believe everything around Dallas, TX is sedimentary. Lots of fossil opportunities, but I don't believe it's so good for crystals/gems. Am I outta luck?

Not sure, but I think this question has been asked before. While I don't know much about texas, I'd suggest you try and search the forum for answers.
