Hey fellas - Looks like I will be taking a camping trip to your fine upper peninsula this summer. I noticed that Porcupine State Park has a designated area for detecting. Glad to see the state is somewhat open to our hobby. Has anyone here tested out this "area" in the park? It looks like they restrict it to a section of beach near the east end of the park. Do you know any history of it off hand? I assume Indian copper may be found but not sure what else. Thanks for any help researching the site.

Haven't been up there in 40 years and only been detecting for 35, so can't help you there, but I have always had pretty good luck over the bridge and we also take several trips a year. Good luck! Oh Yaah!
