Found this in Tucson AZ earlier today while looking thru Rocks outside the Emergency Vet clinic for 3 hours (was trying to distract myself while waiting for news on my furry baby Tiger, at home now 6 hours later and no news) along with some other cool finds. I THINK it's Poppy Jasper. Can someone confirm? Also, the rock that the red poppies is more of a pinkish grey than the golden beige in some of the photos. The setting sun was good light but I realized it was throwing off the color a tad. Color is more accurate in the photo where I had it in my hand for size reference. 20200919_172244.jpg

I've never collected poppy jasper but it does look like it from pictures online, see if a steel knife or a piece of quartz can scratch it, jasper is an opaque Chalcedony microcrystalline variety of quartz so they shouldn't scratch it. I also hope your fur baby tiger gets well fast, I have a little orange fella that has my heart as well, hes not furry but hes a hugger.

Thank you so much! This is the first I've checked in for a while. My Golden Walrus (aka Tiger) has had alot of ups & downs requiring most of my attention. I adore your little friend and it's so awesome that he obviously adores you too. I'll do the tests you suggested and let you know! Interestingly I walked the lot we are looking at purchasing yesterday and found TONS of Chalcedony (I think).
