Hope you find the owner. I found one last year and found the owner. It is a good feeling to return those rings after they been ost for years....Matt

Great find! Good luck in the return!

Good luck tracking down the owner! :icon_thumright:

Emailed the Principal and asked for help locating the Grad. Hope she replies.

try the school's website. often there is an alumni page and you can find the person yourself.

You have to be an Alumni or Faculty to log in.

You might try facebook too Bob. You can put in the school and graduation year. If you dont have an account and would like some help PM me and Id be happy to see if I can come up with somthing for you. Good luck.

After the second email and a phone call, I got a reply and they're going to try and find the owner.
I hope the owner can be located, would be interesting meeting and returning the ring.
If all else fails, I got me about $200 in gold.

Good job Bob. As you probably already figured out Contoocook Valley High School isn't in Contoocook. The locals just call it ConVal & it's in Peterboro. Go figure.. My son graduated from there but he wasn't even born in 1979. :coffee2:

I met with Richards Mother today and gave her the ring she bought for her son 31 years ago. He lost it shortly after getting it and never told his Mother. Didn't want to hurt her feelings would be my guess. He went off to collage and as time passed, he forgot all about the ring. We, Richard and I talked last night when he called me from Jersey. He deals with antiques from what I gather. He will be coming to visit his mother in a couple months and they celebrate their Birthdays. She will be giving it to him then.
Richards Mother presented me with an American Eagle Silver Dollar and a Stoddard Bottle that she took from her collection. I told her I expected nothing for returning the ring. But she insisted I take the gifts. I will Cherish them. You don't find people with appreciation these days. It made me feel better than good. The whole day will never be forgotten.
Oh, BTW. She wants to go detecting. Her house was built i 1850 something. I told her we'd have to practice there. Now I'm being sneaky.
