Found this little ring a few years ago. It's a 1911 Barber dime with Liberty's face popped-out. This type of jewelry was popular around the same time as love tokens. Unfortunately, I dropped it a couple times and an arm broke off each time. Tried to solder them back on but it didn't work. The arms are just held on by tape now.

thats a really nice find

i love those pop out rings. ive seen a couple on the site before and that one is a beauty. where did you find it, fairmount park?

Yeah, good old Fairmount Park. Damn I wish we could get back in there.

yeah, its a shame that detecting is not allowed anymore. most of the old parks here in wilmington like brandywine and rockford parks are the same way. the city acts like you are some kind of criminal even for inquiring about detecting them. oh well.......great ring from the good ol days of detecting! ;)

that's a beautiful ring! Those pop-out coins are very cool. I have never found one.

I did however find this at a park here in Ontario, Canada.
As you can see, it was at one time a brooch, or pin...the pin is now missing, the the joint between the two dimes is broken. They both date 1917.

Didn't mean to hijack this thread, just thought I'd share.

I have a 1909 Barber Quarter that is "popped out", was a ring originaly, can see where the welds broke on the back. I did not find this coin, it was given to me by a TN member. Does anybody have any info on these, how they were made, where? They are very cool looking, Id like to have this one made into a necklace someday soon.

Very nice pop out Barber dime.

Man Fairmount sounds like it was a great area to hunt. I live in Pittsburgh Pa. Alot of old parks still open to hunt here. But alot of them are off limits also.

Man it would be hard to stay away from that place. Atleast you got what you did before they banned it. I can tell from your finds they are very similar to the one's I find.
