hi all
just recently i found some relics
took them home and put them on the wire wheel.
3 days later i was covered in poison oak
today went and got shot and 2 scripts
missed 3 days of work and still itching
the wire wheel must have blown oils and dust from the relics to me
through my 2 shirts and coat ,as i wasnt in the woods or breaking roots
so please dont do this act
1 its costly
2 its bad
3 with some care its semi preventable
poison ivy oak and sumac are active even when dormant
all you have to do is come in contact with the roots, oils
ANYONE ELSE EVER HAVE THIS PROBLEM?
hope this serves as a great warning for all
HAVE A SAFE HUNT
HH:safety-goggles:::)

Can not help you as i am immune to poison ivy, oak and sumac.

Been and worked in contact with all them and nothing ever happened.

Other firefighters working with me were hurting bad and could not understand.

I one time transplanted poison ivy to some property i was living on because the neighbor let his dog run lose.

His dog would come on my property and take the oils back home on its fur and as the neighbor played with his dog would get a bad rash..:icon_scratch::icon_scratch::icon_scratch::laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Sumac got me bad one time. The worst are those little stinging hair caterpillars! They will put a hurting on you. Glad you got the shot. Poison ivy does not bother me to bad. The woods are thick with it right now. Be safe!

Auughhh,I,m itching now. A friend declared immunity but one year after years of being able to handle it really had it bad. I need to start washing bigger objects brought home now because its not a habit.I have spread uruhiol around on my body with out knowing, at first. Last time was from leaning briefly against a tree with ivy on it. Have read, don,t know if true or not that it can travel in air when poison ivy is burned. Itch, itch, itch.

It's true. I'm allergic to poison ivy, I get the weepy itchy kind, Dr. Told me if I ever inhale the smoke from burning poison ivy I will literally drown if I don't get help, because my lungs will fill with fluid. I believe him, carry Benadryl at all times (epi-pen is too temp sensitive).

Silverofsilver- you got it on your hands, once in your system it can pop up anywhere and itch. There is some kind of stuff you can get to apply to exposed skin that is supposed to form a barrier then you just wash it off when done, I haven't tried it. I just try to avoid all the 3 leafy kind of vegetation!
You can try putting you relics in a bucket of hot soapy water, any kind that's a degreaser, that should break down the oils. Just make sure you wash off good after MD'ing. Dr. Told me hot water and clothes dryer would take care of the oil on reg. clothes. GL happy itch free hunting! Not sure what can be done with shoes, you maybe able to wash sneakers or spray boots.

Relics!.... Wire wheel?....Poison Oak :( ....Karma! ;)

im sorry iron patch
i dont understand your post
wire wheel?
these are old hoseshoes and farming implements

the best way to get your iron if you have an iron deficiency is to grind iron on a grinder
don't need supplements
just blow your nose to see how much you have taken in.

Hit the Ibruprofen with a double dose. It will not only subdue the itch, but also the inflammation that comes from scratching.

lol, i dont have it just on my hands and i was wearing gloves,
i have it from neck to nuggets
itch itch

Years ago,I forget what hurricane it was, possibly andrew.Anyway it hit the eastcoast.Afterwards I went to a buddy of mines parents house to help them clean up.The neighbor next door was burning brush and other crap.I was walking through the smoke all day.Next morning I was blown up like a balloon so bad it got hard to breathe,I couldnt open my eyes.Had to rush to the hospital and be put on intravenous.Happened another time when I use to landscape.Bad news if your allergic.

thats 1 heck of a way to find out , red james
