I headed out today to go down toward Maysville, Kentucky to hit a road cut down that way that produces a lot of Fossils. I didn't leave the house until around 5 pm because I was waiting for the rain to move through. As I was heading down the AA Highway I saw a spot where someone had put in a huge garden on a ridge I used to hunt years ago that I knew was very sandy and had always given up nice pieces.

I turned around and went back and knocked on the door and I wasn't prepared for who opened the door. It was the most gorgeous girl I have seen in a long time. She had long blonde hair, really blue eyes, and was wearing a really skimpy pair of shorts and shirt. I was kind of dumb founded at first and finally asked if I could look for artifacts in the garden and she said she'd have to get her dad. He said I could but to stay out of the part that was already planted.(which was a bummer since it looked really good and I could see all kinds of flint in there) I had just barely walked into the spot when I found the black Stemmed Point and about 15 minutes later I found the Celt. I also found the broken Point and the nice Hafted Scraper, but the spot was small and that's all I got. He had about 10 acres he said he was going to turn and I am definitely going back when they plow it all under.

After that I went on down to the road cut and picked up quite a few decent looking fossils. Mostly Horned Coral and Brachiopods. Still, not bad for just a few hours of effort.

You had a nice hunt and I enjoyed the story that you told. Good luck in the future.

I really like the fossils. Years ago I had the chance to collect in the Cincinnatian of Ohio and Indiana - a few hours of that, and the collector becomes quite spoiled!

Nice finds! Folks sure are nice in Kentucky. I'm glad you found another place to hunt. Good luck next time you go back.

any chance you got an in situ of the gorgeous girl? :laughing7: :dontknow:

I didn't take the camera since it was still drizzling rain and I really hadn't planned on artifact hunting. I don't think her dad would have liked that. He was giving me the ole "stinkeye" as I was standing on the porch. lol

Nice finds Steve ! those fossils are really cool.

Great garden finds. That black point is nice. The celt looks to be in great shape also. Fantastic finds as always Steve!
