Dug this little guy from the Banks of the Manatee River today. Too bad the tip and stem are broken. I believe it is an Alachua......thanks for lookin

Nice even if it is broken....your out digging village !! I got out today also...it was a beautiful Florida day....I got a little junk ring, but I did get out and do what I love !! Congrats on another great day out !!
 

A late rain cut it short but hey.....we need it here.

Nice find. I'd drive across that river to & from Sarasota when I worked there last year & knew it would be a good spot for artifacts! Is that Whelk center whorl a tool or just a worn out shell? Keep looking.

It's a tool, have found several at this site. But there has also been stone tools and stp which I believe are not as old as this point. Must have had an overlapping of cultures here because it was an ideal spot for setting up home for many reasons. Now it is all being transformed as most sites experience.....waterfront living and the development causes sites to vanish overnight as you all know.
