Looks like a broken Guilford Yuma to me. I know they are found in Georgia, not sure about Florida. Usually made from lesser quality material like Quartz, Quartzite or Ryolite.

Thank you for both of your replies. It's had me stumped.

Guilford Yuma tends to be a little wider than a typical Guilford, at least around here they are.

I gotcha yeah I find the round base all the time they are skinny yet fat if you know what I mean...that's the style I find here the one in the middle

I agree.. guilford yuma seems to fit the bill. It would also make it a rare find here. But seems plausable. Sometimes I really like this forum.thanks a lot for sharing your knowlage with me.

Here are a few from my area. The first is a Guilford round base, next is a Guilford Yuma, I think. Most Guilfords are chunky, but the Guilford Yuma seems a little thinner, usually.

I agree that it looks like a type of guilford. The only odd thing is the fragile material it is made of. Guilford points are normally a hard stone. The pics above prove that. Nice find !

Somewhat thonotosassa-ish..?? Hamilton-ish??? At least those are FL types. The chalky scares me, odd paleo variant?? Is is possible the end we are looking at was the business end and not the haft?? "Scratches head"

I can't tell you how many times I have flipped it over. The other way it looks more like Basel thinning flaking on a possible cowhouse slough. It just looked like the flake pattern was broken..when the way I I am holding it there the flaking seems to follow the contour

It looks quite similar to this half I found yesterday. Yours is a little more rounded, and mine seems to have been notched a little . Same type flaking, and fragile stone.

I'm not really seeing what your seeing... It could be the lighting. Thanks for posting either way. I'm starting to think its a cowhouse slough.

Ok, I see now. Your half has pretty good size on it. Mine is small and has notches on both sides, nature has worn mine to look kind of like yours, but not any comparison. My bad. Mine I think was a stemmed guilford at once. I think!??!
