Hey Zeke, can you give us an idea of the exact size?

Sorry......I realized I should have done that ::)

Its about 2" across the round section. I've looked at both sides and on the inside parts of it and dont see any markings at all. My detecting buddy at work said today that it looks too big to be a pocket watch.....maybe just the guts of a small clock. Maybe thats why it has the tab/ear with the hole in it to fasten it to the inside of a box or something ???

Interesting find! What type of location did you find it in?

Found it in my mother inlaws yard that I have been finding wheaties........and now silver.....a 1911D Barber dime and a 64 Rosie dime. Her 100yr old house is in the old part of town. Didnt find the silver until I got my Garrett Ace 250. The watch/clock guts were down about 4" at the end of a hedge row.

Heres a pic of it with some pennies and the 64 Rosie for comparison.
