She's seen better days, but after digging nothing but clad (mostly Memorial pennies) and deep soda cans, I was happy to get something different!

Thanks. So far I see no markings whatsoever, so it may be difficult :-/

Wow, that baby's seen better days. Congrats and HH!

Man, I hate those deep cans! :BangHead: Cool watch though...did you try winding it? Maybe it'll still work! :tongue3:

Cool old pocket watch! I'd bathe it a few times in boiling peroxide to see if u can find any markings, etc.

Still trying to catch up here and still jet lagged but did find a dandy of a dandy on Sun in a short hunt. A mate of one I found back in the fall on same property which had been double hole punched for re-use. Will send u a pic when I get a chance. This one has full shank and some silver plating left! Best, Erik

I know what you mean, Grant. I must admit that I do get bored when pulling the same type target over and over and over, (unless they're silver). When something different shows up it's a pleasant surprise.

Especially a nice, large, old pocket watch! I've found a few of them now and they are a very nice surprise to be looking up from the hole.

I don't know if it applies to all of them, but the ones I found took a fairly rough scrubbing better than I thought. But, only if you can see the that the metal wont just crumble. :)

Nice find! Congrats!

HH!

I think if it worked, due to the magic necessary to make that happen, I'd be transported back in time.

Thanks. Yeah, I think the body will maintain its integrity, but not sure about the innards. I try not to get frustrated when pulling Lincoln after Lincoln... they're much better than aluminum shards and beer/soda cans!

Hey Grant - nice find indeed

What I've found is that most of the markings, if any, are on the innards. Work up to it by whatever slow means you have, but then, if nothing else works. A bit of Brillo or a small wire brush wheel might get there. Just go very lightly. :)

My little girl was having a hard time last night with her teething, so I didn't get a chance to scrub. I hope tonight is better (for both of us!). I'll keep you posted.
