Pocket Watch Winder?

I am fairly certain that this is a pocket watch winder. What I need help with is reading the print on each side. Also if anyone could pin a date on it i would be very grateful. Thanks for any suggestions and help.

I don't think it's a watch winder, but rather a swivel off of a wall bracket for a oil lamp ..of course it depends on how big it is?

It's about an inch long.

I can pick out some letters, but not enough for the whole word. Have you tried taking a rubbing of it?

Maybe it is a winder key .. perhaps it says:

I think there are 2-3 missing letters in the lower photo, in front of the "CHMA." My hunch, due to the style of the winder, is that it is an earlier one. Certainly first half of the 1800s, if not the early 1800s. I wonder if the letter in front of the "C" in the second photo is a double S. That would be right for the date range. No luck googling that word though. You'd think there couldn't be many matches for "CHMA" or "SSCHMA." I thought at first it might be French, due to where it was found, but the word in the lower photo doesn't strike me as French if it ends with those letters.

I have now seen this piece in person and it says "Laioiger" or "Laoiger" on one side and "Hirschman" (or Hirsschman" with the double S) on the other side. Can anyone find any information about this manufacturer?
