Found the remnants of about seven pocket watches within two foot radius. All were in pieces and look like they were dismantled before being discarded. They are mostly Ingersoll or Bristol models and appear to be from the 1940’s.

They were found in the mountains outside city limits. There are no buildings nearby but there was an inn/saloon that was torn down in the 30’s. Then a ranger station was built nearby in the 70’s. Why someone dumped watch parts up there is a mystery.

Either someone was in the habit of trading for and scrapping watches of there was a watch smith there and this is the stuff he couldn't use.

Any of them GOLD?

That is strange that they would all be together, this is better than Oak Island!

Could have been buried to hide evidence of theft. After anything of value was removed?

Cool and unique finds...makes you wonder...

First pocket watch spill I've ever seen! :icon_thumright:

Cool find.
I've recovered 5 assorted pocket watches from one Victorian homestead and it had me wondering if the guy was just careless or did tinkering on the side.
Gutted movements and cases generally leans toward a watch repair, scrap pile.

Nice relics, congratulations! :occasion14:

The Ingersoll watch was a throw away. Not repairable. You bought them for a dollar and then junked it when it quit running. Probably a kid got hold of the junkers. Took them apart then lost interest in them. I don't see any good movements in the pile.
