pocket spill at 1700's tavern site.

Today I went back to the site where I dug my last US buckle. Again I was disappointed with the amount of relics I dug. I dug mostly pull tabs, shotgun shells and odd and end brass from the early 1900's then saw silver. I was a very worn Merc dime either 1920 or 29. I hunted a bit more and dug quite a few pull tabs and shotgun shells. I got a good signal in the middle of a bunch of iron signals. About 4 inches down I saw coins roll out. :o Hot Dog here we go. 2 1959 pennies, a 1969 penny and 3 1965 quarters. :crybaby2: What the heck???? That place must have been party central in the late 60's and early '70s by the coins, pulltabs and beer can tops I've dug. Oh well that was my day. At least I got to get out to dig.

:hello:
Hey buddy.
Crazy how some modern stuff ends up on old sites.
If I know you like I think I do, you'll be on to the good stuff soon!

Re: pocket spill at 1700's tavern site.

Thanks 4-H
I just don't know about that place. I've been in there 3 times. a total of about 18 hours and have not really dug the amount of stuff I thought I would. Most of the stuff is early 1900's. I have dug a large cent, an eagle I button and the buckle but everything else has been more modern.
Right now I'm wondering how many people read this post and got upset with me thinking I had dug a pile of 1700's coins :laughing7:

Hi folks, I don't want to get y'all off topic, I just wanted to drop in and thank each of you that reported the trash that appeared in this thread (and in about eight other threads across TreasureNet this morning). Your quick action in reporting this trash to the moderators, resulted in all these inappropriate post being removed quickly and the individual who posted them being blocked from disrupting TreasureNet further.
Unfortunately, this is the third time in the last four days that TreasureNet moderators have had to deal with this issue.

Thanks again for your quick actions in helping us keep TreasureNet a family friendly site!

As a veteran hunter, you know that every day can't be a plate or banner day. At least, you had a place where the grass was not too high to hunt. Nice finds anyway. Those of us with CW sites to hunt sometimes forget how fortunate we are. HH, Quindy.

Hey Quindy
I know, I wasn't complaining or anything. Just stating some facts and having some fun with the situation. I know I'm fortunate to live where I do and have been very fortunate in what I have dug over the years.
