Please forgive me if I post more than one thread. I found many brass items today and I'm trying to research as much as I can without bugging y'all! I've never seen a design like this on a pocket knife before. It looks like a fancy head with a snake wrapped around its neck. Has anyone seen this knife before? Thank you!

Most of that pattern used on products like watch covers (fobs), knifes, etc or what have you with that type of art/coloring/design started in the mid 19th century. I dig sometimes artifacts like the one posted below which is a watch cover is one me and another member on here got out of a hut site! It is got similar style as the one you have but if there any color on it after 150 or so years the color will normally deteriorate. If I was too throw down $20 on the artifact you have I would date it too the late 19th century!

Thank you so much! So interesting! I don't see any color. I did adjust the clarity to bring out details so the color in the photos are a bit off. I'm finding a large variety of brass and iron items at this one homestead which is a small area in a corn field. I believe it was a home that burned down in the early 1900's.
