Found this at a site where we've found several War of 1812 Artillery buttons. No markings other than the saying on one side: ALWAYS WHITTLE FROM YOU THEN YOU'LL NEVER CUT YOU. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I don't think it dates to 1812. Looks like a low priced knife for kids??? My swag, based on nothing, is probably pre WWII.

Thanks BosnMate. Didn't think it was 1812 either but hoped someone would recognize it...still a cool little piece, I think. Thanks for the input!

It's a neat knife they've made them so similar for so long it's hard to tell I've found some like that at early 1900 sites.
