Tenderfoot
I've been hunting the beaches between Kure Beach and the North End for 10 years. In May of 2010 the renourishment program took zillions of tons of sand (and everything else) from the inlet channel and sprayed and bulldozed it 2 to 6 feet deep across both towns. That channel bottom is like an underwater dump. As the sandy water moves through the pumps and pipes any debris gets ground up as it moves along. The result is now my happy hunting ground has turned into a target rich environment of shredded beer cans.
Its an awful thing hoping for a nor'easter or a cane to blow through. This happen elsewhere?
