A friend's family nenbers came out of a large grocery store here in Michigan and noticed there was a ziptie attached to their car wheel. They didn't touch it and called the police.

The police told them it is most likely lased with fentanyl and told them that if they touched it, they would probably pass out and that's when the criminals that put it there come over and either kidnap the family or steal the car!

A sticker on rear window was mentioned the other day as a distraction for an ambush.

I've seen these stories before. Even saw the local police department put out a statement about it. They said the same thing this article says -- there is no evidence that this is actually happening, and appears to be a hoax gone viral. But even so ... pay attention and be careful.

There's a ploy being used here in the UK to steal cars from parking lots. The thieves jam an empty plastic drinks bottle into the nearside (passenger side) wheel arch of parked cars and then hang around waiting for the driver to return. They also check the time on any displayed ticket to narrow down when the driver might be returning.
As the car pulls away, the scrunching sound is intended to alarm the driver sufficiently to immediately stop, get out of the car, and walk round to check what the problem might be, hopefully leaving the door open and the engine running. The thief then jumps into the car, locks the doors, and drives it away.

Bogey man under the bed..
