To go with the many flakes I've been finding, I found my first two points today... or at least 98% complete points. The corners are knocked off of both but I think the experts can fill in that empty space... Can you help me identify what I have here (type? possible age?) These are similar to the points others have found at this location in the Philadelphia PA area. The point on the left is clear, but the small point on the right has a beveled base (it's not broken, except for the corner.) It's basically beveled all the way around.

Is this next item an awl? It's made from a flake and I think shows a little work on the edge.

Is this next item a preform?

Nice artifacts. Great material on the last one..........

Congratulations on your first points! Hard to know on the piece in the second picture, probably just a fractured rock with a point on it. The last picture is too blurry for me tell anything for sure.

You first picture, the Point on the left is more than likely a Levanna and the one on the right a Madison. Both are Triangle types from the Woodland period. The last two pieces just look like waste flake to me. Could be utilized flakes though. Hard to tell from your pictures.

Thanks! Yeah, those pics are more blurry than I thought. I concur, those points do appear to be Levanna and Madison (and the time periods seem to match the documented activity in the area.)

Looking at the material of the artifacts you found compared to commonly found varieties in your area, it looks like they are made of:

1st point- either Brown Jasper or Rhyolite (I'm leaning Rhyolite)
2nd point- Brown Jasper
3rd piece- fuzzy picture, but looks like dark quartzite.
4th piece- Mt. Holy Agate

I'm an not expert, but I was given a nice type set of lithic materials from your area and they seem to match up well.

Great info... thanks everyone!

Well even though the 1st one which is brown could be a point to me it looks like a drill missing the tip. 2nd Id go with reaper on it cause idk, lol. The other probably debitage or waste flakes which ever you prefer to call them. Always good to get out and have a look, nice
