Anyone recognize this symbol or logo?? Or know what these letters stand for? The best I can figure is Women In Defense. The other items found in the same box at an estate sale look like they date in the 60s.
There are no marks to indicate gold, but it is heavy. The jeweler's loupe shows that that is not plated. Maybe some day I'll get that gold test kit ordered

It's modern, which means if it's not stamped...it ain't Gold!

both sides are the same.

when looking at the edge, it appears to be stamped.

This is just a guess, but the initials might stand for International Woman's Day.
