Re: please help me identify this buckle

After seeing the back my first opinion would be, not a buckle but a decorative plate from something. I see no signs of a clasp or any back attachments. There is however a frame around the scene, which leads me to belive decorative in nature. Looks like a market or festival scene.

Re: please help me identify this buckle

mxtvoodoo... welcome to TreasureNet!

That is one cool buckle - but I'd really like to see a larger image. Can you post a bigger pic so I can stare at the details a little closer? :)

Re: please help me identify this buckle

Doesnt appear to be a buckle, though i do see some type of hooks on the back.

Appears to be an outdoor party scene. The two women in front look to be dancing and the man in the right front corner is possibly playing a some type of mouth instrument.

The man in the left corner next to the dog maybe playing a fiddle? Hard to tell from the pic exactly.

I would say a plaque of some sorts.

Maybe a celebration of harvest commemoration plaque?

Nice find!

Probably German or Bavarian or some where in that general area from the appearance of house and clothes worn. You have a puzzler.

The images appear to be a big harvest celebration. The men on the left and right have reaper sling blades used for cutting wheat or hay. The guy by the horse's head has a short whip. The house has a second story porch with outside stairs which is a design used in the US as well as in Europe. If you look closely at the back, there are 4 sharpened tabs, folded flat; one close to each corner. These tabs are meant to pierce something like cloth or thin metal or cardboard / hardboard. What it's for, I have no real idea, but it is a very nice piece. Certainly a "keeper".
