I'm from florida and live near a second seminole war fort. I was recently involved in a project that involved digging a pond on a property I knew you was in a very good location. so I had a sit down with the land owner which ended in both of us with shovels and sifters. among the musket balls clay pipes flint and buttons was this knife. it was almost completely in cased is sandstone except for a portion of the handguard. I really hope someone can offer some help.

this general service button came from the same place. I believe it's 1812. As well. I figured they just had their old uniforms.. which could still be the case with the blade I suppose

hey thanks.... I'm so excited I got an opportunity to take advantage of this. most if not all the items I have recovered from this fish pond would have been destroyed and lost.

I know I'm in what is it... but since I have a couple people looking I can't help but take advantage of the opportunity to show off some of the great stuff that came from this property. and to think... I'm also getting paid. the property owner got some nice stuff too.

thanks for teaming up with me a little on this.. I'm pretty tenacious when it comes to research but there's a lot of narrowing down to do

Any markings on the fork?

the only marking on the fork is a small number 5 on the reverse upper section.

the fork was brownish black. most of which came off after about 2 minutes of electrolosis at 2amp

Nothing specific to add other than... thanks for sharing, those are some great relic finds. I'm glad you were able to save them.
