Platinum??Please help me figure what this out.

Hey guys so I was wondering why someone who first bought this home that I just bought still owns the mineral rights, so today I panned some dirt that’s underneath of my house and found this metal stuff. Does anyone know what this could be? I thought it was slag from a welder or something like that but there’s never been any type of welding or brazing done right here! But who knows please help!

Hopefully, someone will give you a better ID. The pictures you posted aren’t the best but, my thought is that it’s burnt aluminum from a soda can. JMO.

Are your water pipes copper? If so my guess is solder.

Old cast iron sewer pipes used to be sealed with molten lead as well

Could be any number of things, add it to the pile of misc metal scraps that you'll surely be collecting if you stick with this hobby!
