Found this today and have no idea what it is. It was at least 8-9” deep & I believe it’s made of brass or copper (non magnetic).
Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.
It is completely intact and not a broken piece.
I’m certain it is old.

It would have had another piece exactly the same as this one? That bar that runs along the front..would it have been raised?

Looks like maybe hair piece but has hook like a watch fob..good luck, hope you find an answer 🤞
