Please Help Identify Unknown Tool....Musical Instrument Related?

Does anyone know what this item is? It is marked Yamaha on the front, has a thumb screw, and some kind of rubber sleeve that tapers down near the end. I know Yamaha made guitars, so I thought it perhaps was some kind of musical instrument tool or part. Any help is appreciated!
