In What rangeshould it read on a number scale. On an at pro and a spectrum it reads 83 to 86. Shouldnt gold read lower. On the rear bottom left it almost looks like part of the word mississippi.

I will try for better pics when i get home. My seven yr old grandson found this today. I started him detecting when he was four.

It could be a token of some kind. If silver even on a Pro would read like 93+as large as it is.

The face seems to be King George in coins made in early 1800's the head tilts up which gives it's identity away actually.

Could it be an id disc in this pic on lower left of it it looks like co for maybe company and then a letter and part of or all of the word mississippi. I am still stumped by this. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1590553089.109989.webp

Hi - that is a neat find! It looks like a German made "Gaming" Spielmark token. Designed to look like an American gold coin but they are brass. Still old though and lots of fun :)

Here's an ebay listing for a pair of them-

Thank you so much for the id and thanks to all who responded. You guys always rock on this site. I will post a pic of my 7 yr old grandson tomorrow holding his find. Passing down a great hobby here.
