Long time lurker needing assistance identifying ring.
I picked up this jade ring at a gsale. Stamped 925. I acid tested the top and it came out to be 10k. Does not appear to be plated. Seems that it was once a pendant that was later made into a ring. Can anyone tell me any info on the ring?

That's a beauty! The faceted cab is hand cut and possibly jade or jadeite. I was wondering why you thought it was a pendant at first, but can see from the back that the shank appears to have been soldered after the smaller stones were set (plus the fact that it's 925 mark is likely much more contemporary that the face of the ring). If that's the case, then the stones must be very hard to withstand the heat of a torch. Best get it to a jeweler with estate jewelry experience, for a proper appraisal.

Great ring and an interesting choice of a forum name.

How odd -- the pic is gone now. I wonder if the OP removed it.

I remember seeing it. He musta removed it. Paranoid or something, you know how those long time lurkers are, lol.

Noone knew anything about it. No point in leaving it up.

Doesn't 925 mean silver? I may be wrong.

I don't see the point in removing myself, but that's just me. I mean you can't expect the thousands of members on here to see the photo in your post in the few days that it was posted. Some things take a little time. You should know that, LTL.

The part of the ring that goes around your finger was marked 925, so yes that is sterling. But the ring looked like it had the front part of it added to it, a marriage of sorts. Kind of like taking a wedding band and soldering on a gold pendant or something to the front of it. Does that make any more sense, since we don't have a photo?

Yes I can relate now :-)
