So that's what they are. I find those in an old coal mine site in a field behind my house. I've got the bigger ones also and knew them to be an elect. type hardware, but I wasn't sure how those ceramic pipes were used. I also found 40 bucks of copper wire at that site. The wire was all over and the insulation broke off like peanut brittle. There's more wire, but is goes down in the ground as it looks like they bulldozes the place at one time and looks like they filled the shaft with all the surface building and debris. I put rebar stakes where I pulled up as much copper as I could to mark the spots. I'll take a shovel some time later and see if I can dig some more up. Thanks for the ID on those!
