The first picture looks like dog poop. I know it has a technical term just couldn't think of it. The other rock looks like a plant stem. Not sure just a guess. PICT0001-4.JPG PICT0002-3.JPG

The other is 6" long and looks layered glass. PICT0003-3.JPG
PICT0004-4.JPG

The last looks like burnt wood but it goes in different direction. PICT0008-4.JPG

PICT0010-3.JPG I hope you can confirm or inform me about these rocks. Thank you for looking.

Pics 1 & 2 I can't tell...Geode is the word your thinking of?

As for pics 3 & 4 I'm thinking calcite? Do the typical tests...With 5 & 6 the same...Casserite/hematite?

I am not real certain on some of these, but...

1. looks like the quartz core of a thunderegg.

2. could be coral

3. Selenite

4. Schorl (black Tourmaline)

Great looking rocks. Thanks for sharing.

Hope this helps a little.

hey Burdie,

where did you find these? that would help. The first two look like items commonly found in florida rivers. first being a piece of poop. coprolites are fossilized poop nuggets from, well, anything that pooped back in the day. Alligator coprolite seems to be a popular picture found on the net. the second sure looks like a coral fossil (also found in abundance here in florida, its actually our state rock)

the others could be easily ID'ed with a mineral or gem book.

I would get a rock hound lap person to cut that poop shaped rock for you looks like it's real pretty inside (some of this makes fine poop jewelry) or you could get it positively ID'ed (rock club or college geo dept.) and mount it as a specimen.

nice rocks!
