Please...help for the 'puter illiterate

Alright, I'm frustrated. Been trying to post pics on the "test" forum, and just can't get it to work. I only post on one other site, and there, you need to use a pic hosting site like photobucket. Once I figured that out, it became second nature.
I really need to be walked through the steps here, literally click by click. If someone would take the time to help a computer idiot, I'd be forever grateful......Thanks.

If you are using Windows it is this easy:

1. Go to START then ACCESSORIES then select PAINT

2. GO to FILE then OPEN and select your image where you have it stored on your drive

3. Select IMAGE at the top and then STRETCH/SKEW and in the top two boxes enter 50 and 50

4. You may then have to repeat but try something like 80 and 80 the second time around

5. Select FILE then SAVE AS and save.

Then you can post them without any problems

If you have any problems just PM me and I will be happy to help you figure it out. Everyone who runs Windows XP or earlier has Paint, not sure about Vista...

Hmmm. I've been trying to copy and paste from "my pictures". Knew it couldn't be that simple.
(I'm using XP.) Is there a route from the "browse" box at the bottom that would be simpler? That brings up my pictures in another window, but I can't get them from there to a post. I'm so confused.

If you hit BROWSE

your Pics should come up.
If they don't tell me what Does.

Hit BROWSE
Highlight Pic you want Hit OPEN
if more pics hit (more attachments)
and Repeat.

When ready hit POST

do not expect to see your Pictures if you hit PREVIEW

Just create a new folder and name it something you can remember. Then from inside PAINT when you go to file open you go to MY PICTURES and select the file folder you created. Change the VIEW option at the top of the page to Thumbnails and you should be good to go.

As far as the browse from the forum, if you create a folder on your desktop you can select desktop from the dropdown list and then open the folder you created.

Thanks much folks. I'm going to go wash the mud from yesterday's relics...errrr.....junk. I'll give the pic thing another try later. When frustration hits, sometimes it's best to just walk away for a while. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Again, thank you much.

I had a hunch, Because that seems to be the biggest problem
for new posters.

That's the simple path I was searching for. Worked just fine . Thanks all.

If the pictures are on your Photobucket account you can get them on the post also.

Click on the 2nd camera icon, and then in between the img in brackets and the /img in brackets, type in your link text - the http://.........

It seems you have to add text, I was trying to just put a picture and it wouldnt work to I added text. But I didn't intend to have 4 pics. Will try again. I am getting and closer and thank you for your help.

if you don't want to add text

look above and click this

you will get this [ attach = 1] each time you click it

just remember to change the number if you have a second or more pics.

Example [ attach = 1]

[ attach = 2]

[ attach = 3]

you can also type messages between these describing each pic.
