Please...any info or comments about this button

Hi
This button was found in my home yard in South Florida. Is made out of brass. Diameter is 1 1/8" no markings. Never seen a one piece button like this, all are the two piece type with threading holes on the back.

There is a book on military buttons.

Check for Warren K. Tice. He was the maker and supplier of buttons to the U.S. military from 1776 up until 1865. There is some books available.

Your button is hard to match.

A thought just came to me......Could it be from a Private Naval Military School? I'm also thinking that the reason military buttons have no holes is so that the thread does not interfere with the insignia. So, could it be something other than a uniform button?

Could you please post the back side of your button?

1 1/8" seems rather large could of had been used for a draw string type of closer?
