I found a small pocket of goodies. However , for the last two dives the gold has eluded me. I am blaming that on my air fills. That's my story and I'm sticking too it!

Got a 1898 O Barber quarter, two Washington's, two mercs, a rosey and a war nickel. A sterling ring and a very small sterling something, maybe a ring top? It has a D on it and what looks like a small hinge. Three buffalo. a 1917, 1926 and a no date. 7 wheat's and a Canadian king George V 1932.

Of course the Barber quarter is another semi key date. Would love to find one in the water that wasn't hammered!! Just like my 1904 S half.

My usual assortment of buckles and snaps. I did find an interesting piece of steel. I need to go out and get it and take a picture of it. Maybe someone has a clue as to what it is.

Enjoy the pictures. I enjoyed the dives. A good day to relax in the water.

Nice finds.

Great stuff like usual

That's a awesome site that just keeps producing. I'd have to take stock in air tanks because I'd be out there all day lol

Here are the finds I left in my truck. An empty plastic Space Ranger wallet. I was digging another find and I dug it. And the piece of metal that looks like a chisel. Maybe it is and is missing the wood handle.

This site is absolutely HUGE. There is no way I will be able to hunt it all. It has a few problems. I was finding those buckles over a foot down. Then trying to clear out all the muck and invasive weeds to find the coins. It is a whole lot of work. Stuff lost in the deeper muck is way out of the reach of my machines and ability. If all the weeds were gone and the current took away all the muck, I would be showing you probably hundreds of silver and gold targets.

IF YOU HUNT IN ALL METAL - YOU'LL REACH SOME OF THEM

I haven't been on here for a few days, I see you're still kicking ass!

Well if others were out there finding things maybe. But nobody is taking my spot yet. Looks like I have the place all to myself. I do have 15 tanks and they last 3 hours each so that is 45 hours of playtime. I could make it a full time weekly job! LOL NOT.

As usual, very well done sir!

Here is my question, when we find Barbers there are almost always Indians present. I do not recall seeing you find IHCs. I know they circulated way past 1909. Did you post and I missed them? Have you found any Indians at this site?

Thanks in advance, and best of luck to you sir.

LOL NOOO. One of my wading friends found one there but I haven't found one diving. On my hunt before this one, I found a 1859 Canadian large cent. This is a strange place. You would think like in a park, you would find more pennies than silver. If you have been following my hunts I have found more silver coins than wheat cents also. I think the oldest American penny I have found there is 1913. The beach opened in 1909. Barbers were still minted until 1916. That is probably why the Barbers and not the indians.

That is one reason I really like this beach. I seldom find a penny!

Are you at 40,000 buckles yet!:laughing7: Nice hunt again:thumbsup:

I am scared to count them! Actually in the winter on another site I used to have contests and I gave away all the walking halves I found during the summer. I have NO idea if that is permissible on this site but I will find out.

That is not the only thing I have been finding here. Here is a sneak glimpse of another find I have NEVER posted yet. Those buckles and these tags are big enough to find in the muck so I can concentrate on areas I haven't touched.

This is a VERY small amount of tags I have found in the last three months. The bath house held over 6 thousand people a day. They had lockers for every one. So along with lockers you have keys and tags identifying your locker. I also am saving them for a contest. I find a lot of tags with no keys. Some keys are rusted to nothing and I have found some intact keys.

Scubadetector, got some questions regarding water hunting, rivers etc. Do you seek out bed rock areas if your looking for a spot? If you find an old swimming hole on a river do you hunt the entire area or steer clear of the sand and gravel beds etc? Looking for old fords and swimming holes in rivers and creeks I find if I hunt anywhere but the bedrock hard pan areas I dig cans and bottle tops 1-2 feet deep. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I actually don't go looking in rivers for old swimming holes. I was told about this one by a few friends. I look for swim areas in inland lakes for the most part. So I really cannot answer your question.

In inland lakes I dive all along the shore line, behind peoples houses looking for coins and rings. I use a zig zag pattern and go pretty fast. When I find a target, I slow down and search the whole area. Sometimes I get lucky and find a lot more things but sometimes I find that I just hit a wayward coin or ring. I do this in water deep enough the waders with detectors have not been able to get to. I also look for old 55 gallon drums to suggest anchors for a swim platform. I make a killing when I find them. There are 11 thousand lakes in Michigan. I know people swam in rivers but I just don't look for those spots.

I am sure if you go to the Beach and Shallow Water section and post your question, you will find an answer that you are looking for. I am only in this river because it was a very happening place to swim.

Too bad you can't dredge the area.Or can you, that will get the goodies.
