I searched google and found...I don't know where you are located asmerri but these were found in Milwaukee (03-16-2010). Also, I just searched TN and found your coins on: unknown play money (Sep 17, 2009)

It's strange how there doesn't seem to be any known manufacturing information on these. Cool find either way. Thanks for the info everyone!

Max--Aluminum oxide - some soil conditions are extremely tough on Aluminum. Similar to what happens to Zinc.

North Texas soil must be brutal on all coins/tokens. Everything old and new that I dig appears to have rust chunks or calcium buildups on it. It's very frustrating. Everything I have tried to remove the buildup just ends up trashing the coins. I would be very open to any cleaning suggestions. I have tried hot peroxide soaks olive oil, baking soda rubbing and most recently built an electrolysis device. None were able to remove the chunks.

Better than clad for sure.

What about aluminum jelly for aluminum? I have never tried it but what about carburetor cleraner? Cleans my rebuilt carbs up nice.

Peroxide on copper, electrolysis for iron.
