Stopped at a local Tot Lot today, between rain showers.? It was very wet and had just stopped raining when I thought to swing by and see if I could find anything in a short time I had between stops at Radio Shack and the Post Office.? I think I spent about 40 minutes there, searching the swings and about half of the rest of the area before I figured I had to leave.?

Anyway, was a typical day except for a low coin count but I did find 3 diecast toys in a lot that seemed littered with broken toys and such.? There was a girls sandal under a park bench and a Tonka Dump Truck that had been broken apart some.? Searching the lot, I found 3 toys burried just under the surface to about 4" down.? ?Also, found what I think and hope might be part of an arrowhead.? The deal though is that a modern tot lot isn't a place you would expect to find such an item.? Thus I have some scepticism.? Anyone have an experienced opinion?? ?It seems to have the right shape and all and the area was occupied by some Potowatami up until the mid to late 1800s.? I suppose it could have been a re-creation kind of thing,*I recall people demonstrating how arrow heads were made when I was a kid in school), a lost find from someone else that got lost again, or ???? Where did the sand in the tot lot come from before being put there.? ? ?

Lastly, I found an odd amount of change.? .815 cents.? or 81 1/2.? ? I found a 1982 penny that had been cut in half.? ?

Here are some pictures.?

I'm not sure about up your way but in ky most arrow heads and such are made from Flint or a type of Glassy rock that will chip out to have a very sharp edge. If it's not it sure looks the part. :)

That is something I forgot to mention in my other post. It looks like a crystiline type stone. A lot like flint. It may not be appearent in the photo but when light hits it, you can see a little very find grain and some sparkle.

Nope, not an arrow head, wrong kind of rock, sorry. ?JIM. ?

Hey, if it isn't, no big deal.? Like I said earlier, I have my doubts due to where I found it and the light clean look to it.? However, what got my attention was the texture, grain and sparkle of some of the grain to the stone and the shape.? ?I have heard of people finding arrowheads around here, I would be cool to find one, I guess.?

Thanks for all opinions, whether affirmative or not.

Nice finds!! My kids love when I find those little cars.WTG!!

Sorry, Jim is right that is just a rock :'( Great finds otherwise for a Tot lot! That stone is to fragile, it also is not shaped right and or chiselled to a sharp edge, it is also to thick.

Keep @ it and HH!!

Thanks for showing off your neat finds. Sorry but it's not an arrowhead, but does look to be a piece of what we call sugar quartz in my area. HH

Cool finds!
