Plate identifying marks

Hey all. couldn't get a response on the Ebay forums so I thought I'd give y'all a shot. I have posted 2 pictures of a plate/saucer that i got in an auction this past weekend. Could really use some help finding out who made it. Thanks in advance

27 could be the year, and other numbers month, and day

Need a bigger photo of the plate. Image looks similar to a Currier and Ives Print.

Not a Currier and Ives. I will keep searching to see if there is anything to be found. Nothing so far.

the tilting in the light has produced another clue. There is a circle with the letter "S" inside and the number 40 underneath it

I'd take a guess that the mark means SN# 274 of the 1st in the series.
