What do you think of Planted hunts I am teaching some of my group members to detect. and was thinking of planting a park or undisclosed location with buffalo nickels merc dimes wheat backs and such ???? would you tell them or would you let them have the enjoyment of their find ??? I normally charge 20,00 per head since they use my detectors and it helps pay for batteries
??? I would also keep a plot map of where I planted good coins most are just older circulated coins not worth much but to the person that finds them

As you are teaching them to hunt I would tell them that this is a teaching expedition. They aren't going to learn much if they don't find anything. .
But yes, I would tell them. A guy I know has his wife salt coins in their yard so he can practice. Beats finding a bunch of pop tops.

I'd tell them. But with a catch. Tell your pupils they can only keep their finds if they take notice of tone, location, VDI/TID, etc., on each recovery. Might be a useful learning experience?
GL
Peace
