All Treasure Hunting
We discovered this Roman Site only last year, we tried it in stubble condition but only had a couple of coins. Decided to retrurn when it was drilled. This was the only day we could do, because by next week the crop will be showing.
5 Hours (10 Man hours)
First time the XP has done its thing on this field, 32 Roman Bronzes (we only had 50 in the 4 days we did it last year).
2 Roman Bronze Pinheads
Roman Sawn head fittment
Roman Leather mount - circular
Broken Roman Brooch
Scrap Gold

I got a hammered twenty feet from the end on my last run, in the dark. Only hammered to come off this field :D Not pretty but it counts :icon_thumright:

A much better day & plenty of land to cover in the future.

Good show, old boy.

By the by, WHAT is that reddish surface that your finds are always photographed on?

My missus flipflop :D

The hammered looks fine to me :icon_thumleft:

It would have been welcome for me today!

They will be there with some more effort :)

A general question of interest to me.........What do you eventually do with all of those exciting finds..........Keep them?...... Sell some?......Display them, although I suspect your wives might say something about that, :icon_scratch: unless you have got a study to keep them in. Hope you guys won't mind me asking.

Scrap gold??? What are the odds of finding scrap gold on this side of the pond? Not bloody likely!

Great work, Crusader !

Thanks so much for posting the pictures for us to see .
We enjoy them a lot.

Never sell anything (as a general rule). Farmers get some of it. Display some in the local Museum. Spare room with lots of sorted items in various trays & drawers. Coins in Albums depending on condition.

You will.

Great Hammered Crusader - Looks like you had a good day too.
How does Gold become scrap then? Surely even in olden times every gram of Gold was too precious to scrap - would like to know more.

Scrap being my name for something I can't ID :D Plus it will go in a bag with other scraps :icon_thumright:

Looks like both you and shaun had a great day. With the typical find tally that you guys get batteries can't last that long. I agree with shaun, that hammered looks ok to me and I would be very happy with any scrap gold. I am still trying to find where to unload my low alpha.

hammered

Congrats on the finds
