Hi everyone. I bought a dalhke 2.5 inch dredge basically right before they made it illegal to dredge in most places in TN. So i have been staring at a very large, expensive paper weight for the past year or so. I probably only got to use it for a week + total. I was hoping for some suggestions to remedy this. I was able to pack it in and out of some very hard to reach places and found some decent gold with it. I am about 4 hours or so from the alabama gold camp, and i have heard there are some places in north and south carolina. I would like to take a week or so long dredge trip. in tn i was happy if i got over a gram dredging in a day, although there are some places where you can get a lot more.

I'm not sure about either getting a ldma or gpaa membership, or just going to a place where you can pay to dredge on a daily basis. Or if someone has a spot they want to dredge but no dredge type of situation. i just figured i would throw this out and see what anyone might suggest. thanks for reading.

With all that flooding going on there is probably a nice reorganization of materials. Figure out where the good stuff rests, and make it look like you are helping peeps dig out, and you get free lunches while you 'clean up'.

You can try Marion NC there are a couple of pay to play places there, The Lucky Strike and Thermal City come to mind. There is Gold and Gem in North Ga. There is the Alabama Gold Camp. you can join the GPAA and dredge at the farm lease or join the WEGM and have two places in North Ga.
You may want to look at the size of streams in relations to the size of dredge you plan on using.
Good Luck

Considering the geologic processes that consolidate placer deposits, 'natural unprocessed gold' is precisely the kind of material to get reorganized, unless you consider the flooding processing. Floods are the friend of savvy sluicers.

i think possibly a member i was responding to got ban hammer or i'm not sure. the post i was initially commenting to was not yours :) and i couldn't agree more.

My neighbors actually rent out cabins on eBay but in not interested in running a campground just making sure it's the right kind of folks that we bring down

bump. kind of a have dredge will travel type deal. i'm in middle tn. would like to be able to camp out with the wife and dogs and help you clean out a hard to reach spot. the dredge really does awesome.

@mosesofthesouth have you tried Contrary creek in Mineral, VA it is a 8 hr trip from Nashville https://goo.gl/maps/8ydrdkGqpWq you can view info on the vagold forum wont post link to forum but a quick search will pop up. no more then 6" dredge allowed and you need to keep your feet wet access on the west side of the road down the steep trail under bridge. Lake anna lodge is closest place to stay unless you stay in camper at lake anna state park. If you do plan on going give me a shout and if I can get off work for a weekend I'll meet ya up there it's the closest place for me to go from Roanoke, VA until I find this property 30 miles away that has been lost with inaccurate location listed on mrdata site

Damn that sounds like a hoot. If I wasn't thousand some odd miles away up here on top of the mountain I'd gladly tag along.
Mannn, It's going to be mid 70's tomorrow and I'm stuck inside :BangHead:

Well think I'll be going to Contrary Creek for 4 days, While everyone's stuffing their guts I'll be stuffing my pockets. Going to try to head up Weds the 22nd and stay til sunday half a day. Going to walk the creek weds and get a few samples and find the best location. Black Friday is gonna be gold friday for me lol.
