Pixie's Hat - Or just a Candle Snuffer

Hi Guys,
I don't know if you've heard, but around these parts where I live there is talk of Pixies, Goblins and Fairies living out in the fields and woodland! Well now I've got the proof that they really exist - I've just found a little man's hat! About 7cm high, diameter at the bottom would have been around 3cm, deffinate bobble at the top.
Here is the pic:



Or could it just be an old Candle Snuffer:









Found in a new field - with coins from William III, George II and more recent (more pics coming soon).

Looks like a tip to a sword or bayonet scabbard.

It's almost certainly a candle snuffer (shape, material, and break are right) but I like the pixie hat idea also

You are probably right. Looking at the pic again I don't see any holes for attaching the tip to the leather like there would be if it was a scabbard tip.

Yep, antique candle snuffer, and the torn part is where the handle use to be. Breezie
