Pistol?

This item appears to me to be a pistol. It has the shape. Any wild guesses about what type gun? Maybe how old? I found it in a pasture that was cleared of trees by a friends father in law. The land has been cleared for about 50 years and has only had the grass bush hogged over the years. The father in law doesnt seem to know any thing about it. We found other metal things in the area that we dont know what are. There was also some boken peices of what appears to be a plate or bowl, the old "cracked glass". I hope the pictures are good enough to shed some light.

i don't think so, but try some electrolysis and see if it looks diff.

I guess you mean a handle broken from a pistol frame? I dont think so but clean it up and lets see. I think older pistol grips were usually wood, unless its from a toy gun.

Don't look much like a pistol in its present state of corrosion. Perhaps a part of the grip frame? The picture isn't too definitive. Monty

Yeah I don't see a pistol image in it, but it kind of looks like a handle to one. Dig deeper and more area of the hole. See if you can find more.

I can see why you think it looks like a pistol, but I don't think it is. It looks more like a hammer head or another type of tool.

If you look real close, it looks like a demon cow with a long neck, and part of his shoulders. Praise the lord he's just rusty, the look in his eye is mean mean mean. i hope you did not dig up a bad luck charm. Hope yo dont have a farm.
